Any ideas on the pros or cons of putting a hot roof over the old one? Mine is the untested, 1 layer, closing windy daytime found tiles in the patio. There's old hailstones damage too. Thanks!
My dad have a roofing company for years. When we had to do a roof that have one layer, as long as at hand were no mushy spots (obvious rotten wood underneath) we usually in recent times did a second layer. But, if you are thinking of selling your house surrounded by the next several years, I would consider doing a tear-off. I intuitively wouldn't want to purchase a house with two layer of shingles...I'd rather hold a house with a newer one veil roof (or preferably a metal roof).
