Maintenance and repairs

Questions: 4 Unit building-basement owner is having a plumbing problem. They own a cracked outlet pipe and the floor drain is backing up when the sink is used.To fix this they hold to break out the floor.Would this be a responsibility of the assoc or unit owner?

Laws come and go from place to place, however, if the cause is inwardly the unit, and no other unit contribute to the problem, it's usually considered the owner's problem -- if in decoration, the cause is inwardly the unit, and it affects other unit, the HOA can fix the problem, and charge it back to the owner.

If the cracked outlet pipe is a "building deficiency" (vs purely normal wear and tear), the owner could attempt to restore your health the loss from the developer, or a previous owner.

honestly I need more specifics, but I can relate you the rules for my unit. plumbing inside the section is my responsibility. Its hard to enunciate. most associations are fair at determining whos to money. It may be covered by homeowners ins though...
