Pregnancy

Questions: A firend of mine is 5 months pregnant, and continues to go out drinking & i dont denote one glass of wine i be determined like several bottles, but she wont listen when we speak about her how much harm this could bring, how can i bring through to her and make her read between the lines?

take her to the hospital and show the effects of alcohol on babies. if that doesn't work, then in recent times forget it.

1) Machiavelli talks more or less the need to decieve. Next time she feel abit ill - probably basically due to pregnancy - play on the huge amount of alcahol and convince her to go see a doctor, once she tell him about the alcahol consumption he will seriously describe her to stop and she will most likely stop, when a doctor say it it's not "nagging" but when a friend does, it usuaully is. It sounds mean to startle her like that, but it is contained by her interest as if that baby develops some serious mess up, which is VERY possible, then her hurt will be magnified and this time be base on something real. If she ignore the doctor then there's zilch you can do and you just enjoy to hope the baby resists the poison.

Another opportunity is a little smaller number drastic, just make clear to her seriously. Not "you really shouldn't drink". I mean update her that alcahol is a chemical poison, which it is, research the damage it can do which most plausible centres around brain defile and then any point her to the journals or relate her about them. When I have it in mind research, I don't mean girl's magazine etc. I mean irrefutable studies published on the internet such as journals. You can find these via google but it's for a while harder, the best way to find them is to travel onto a University press website, i.e Stantford and then turn out the keywords.

Failing this, it's beyond your control.

If the pictures don't do it, be in motion to the local large hospital and relay them your story. They can probably arrange a tour of the neo-natal unit where on earth she can see for herself.

show her these.

Sometimes just relating isn't enough. Maybe you inevitability to find examples or true stories of how alcohol affected the infant.

I find it hard to believe that such a sensible woman approaching yourself has such a stupid and stubborn associate.

She is clearly addicted to alcohol and is endanger the life and strength of her unborn. She will either wrap up up killing the toddler before it is born or she will hold a child born with the effects of alcohol.

Where is the man that impregnate her? This man should have her locked up near no access to booze for the rest of the pregnancy. Sadly, the damage is probably already done.

First question: Does she want the kid, or she trying to hold a "guiltless abortion"?

Second: what have you already tried besides conversation? Have you shown pictures of babies with fetal alcohol syndrome? Have you asked her point blank if she loves her child? Have you tried getting her alcoholism counseling- as this might be alcoholism, though she refuses to own up it?

I would suggest also talking to the father of the baby- hopefully he's around!- and return with him to talk to her as okay. It might also work to get a doctor or a clergyperson to agree to her.

I saw from your profile that you are in the UK, so I assume your friend is as powerfully. I did some checking and it is considered endangering the welfare of a child to expose an unborn newborn to severe amounts of alcohol/drugs. You truely need to report her appointments to the Child Protection Services. They will take the referral and investigate the allegations. If it is determined that the babe is in menace, they have the propensity to force treatment or else can petition the courts for custody at once after birth. Professional treatment for your friend and baby is paramount. Do the right point and make the phone call.
