IRS - W-2 Forms

Questions: After my first w-2 was lost within the mail, I asked my prehistoric employer to order a topical w-2. when I called 12 days latter, my old employer have forgotten to order a current w-2. Does that make them within non-compliance?

Call the antediluvian employer and tell them you want your W-2 ASAP or you will report them to the IRS. Get a knotty date from them when it will be ready and how they will get hold of it to you. Confirm the address they have for you on record. Get a name of the creature you spoke with. The threat alone should carry them going. But, if they stonewall you or say that you won't go and get your W-2 in a week, appointment the IRS at 1-800-829-1040. Explain your situation, give them the dub and number of the employer and the name of the personage you spoke with. Good luck. Answers: If they can prove they mailed it the first time and what address they mail it to, I'm pretty sure they are off the hook and providing another one is a courtesy. Ask if you can pick it up this time... as long as it isn't a couple of states away.

No that does not make your ancient employer non-compliance it was merely a mistake. Best entity to do in a situation close to that is hold your cool and ask again until you get what you entail.
